Tech4Democracy is a global initiative developed by IE University, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State, that aims to advance democracy-affirming technologies by:
• Supporting startups/scaleups that develop technologies contributing to the respect and promotion of democratic values worldwide.
• Encouraging large-scale and sustainable industrial development of these digital technologies.

The Challenge
IE’s Tech4Democracy Challenge will bring together researchers, innovators, investors, and entrepreneurs to identify and highlight key innovations. Specific areas of innovation will include data for policymaking, responsible AI and machine learning, fighting misinformation, and advancing government transparency and accessibility to government data and services.
